When scrambling to explain all the cold weather people only expose their ignorance of climate science. Fortunately, they also produce statements that even those who don't understand the science see as illogical.
Growth of bureaucracies is a hallmark of totalitarianism. As Mary McCarthy said, “Bureaucracy, the rule of no one, has become the modern form of despotism.” The power behind Barack Obama doesn’t care if he is a one-term President. Total government control is a far more important agenda than any individual political career.
Science must have accurate and adequate data; without it, results are meaningless. Inadequate data seriously limits climate research, but scientists and governments who manipulate it for political goals make it impossible. This occurs because most government weather and climate agencies work to create and confirm the results of the IPCC.
In the battle for proper climate science free from politics, there are two levels at which bureaucracy is a modern form of despotism. In most countries it is in departments of meteorology, weather, climate or environment. At the global level, it is in the United Nations. Regardless of location, it is essentially unaccountable and represents the enemy within.
There are serious problems with all the current measurements from surface stations to satellites, but a major one is the contamination of the surface readings by changes in the physical conditions around the weather station. This article looks at one contentious issue and serious concern with the surface record known as the Urban Heat Island Effect (UHIE).
Political whitewash of the corrupted climate science of the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) illustrates the completely political nature of the issue. Indeed, the Chairman of the British Parliament investigating Phil Jones and the CRU specifically said they would not look at the science. If they had, they would see the extensive and outrageous scientific errors, manipulations of data, and omissions of large areas.
Most people know Benjamin Disraeli’s comment, “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics”, but few understand how application of statistics affected our lives in the 20th century. We sense it when everything sort of fits everyone, but doesn’t precisely fit anyone.
How much do calculations of global temperatures represent the real temperature of the Earth? Every day, new stories appear about temperature records with errors or deliberate omissions.
On August 3rd and 4th 2010, a solar flare erupted from the surface of the Sun coincident with a sunspot equal in area to the Earth. All sorts of hysterical predictions were made, including claims this was the start of increasingly severe activity leading to 2012. The only thing that materialized was an extensive and dazzling aurora display.
“It is the greatest and most successful pseudoscientific fraud I have seen in my long life as a physicist. Anyone who has the slightest doubt that this is so should read the Climategate documents, which lay it bare. I don’t believe that any real physicist, nay scientist, can read that stuff without revulsion. I would almost make that word revulsion a definition of the word scientist. So what has the APS, as an organization done in the face of this challenge? It has accepted the corruption as the norm, and gone along with it.”
~Harold Lewis, Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of California, in his resignation letter to the American Physical Society (APS)
